Water & Food Dishes
Water and food bowl provision is one of the most important things to set-up correctly for your tortoises. Ideally the water bowl should be large enough for your tortoise to bathe in but not too deep. The water level should cover their lower shell but no higher so they can easily keep their head above the water level. As tortoises do pass liquid into water bowls they ideally should be full or close to full at the correct water depth for your tortoise. This is the safest way to prevent accidental drowning especially if the water bowl is outside where rain can fill it too.
