Cactus Plants for Tortoise Food
Cosy Tortoises sells a wide range of Cactus Plants (Opuntias) which are suitable for tortoises with the spines removed. Opuntia Catcus is a great form of calcium and fibre for a tortoise. There are many speicies of opuntia and it is all relatively fast growing. You do not need to give too much to a tortoise. All currently out of stock.
Opuntia Elata
Smooth rounded dark glossy green pads with very few, if any, spines. Orange-red flowers.
Opuntia Ficus-Indica
Tall growing and vigorous, eventually tree like, few spines. Large orange-red or yellow flowers.
Opuntia Jamaicensis
Lightly spined oval pads. Easily produces its sulphur yellow 4cm diameter flowers.
